From a technological perspective, these look very interesting. Unfortunately the nearest place i could audition these is Montreal, but it looks to be worth it. Have you heard these, Romy, or are you also impressed with the price/technology ratio?

A friend of mine asked my last night if I feel that PurePower’s Sound as good as a playback during those extremely seldom moments when electrify is good. It was a good question and I feel that it is worth to cover.
First off all I can not say about ...

[quote user="Paul S"]Of course the idea of "minimal" needs context and a priori determinants, like any idea at all, and I don't see that the Regas belong in this particular discussion, at least at this particular point. OTOH, the Continuum is anothe...

[quote user="jessie.dazzle"]Wow, 6 x 15" drivers (!!!); though the curved profile certainly imparts rigidity, I'm guessing this horn must resonate more than a bit (no bracing until the mouth) -- but I like this thing.
Interesting, the phase plug-lik...

As the writer of the above-referenced propaganda, I am pleased to once again tweak the whiskers of the cat.
First off, this is promotional material so what the heck do you expect? Every brochure offers a new benchmark in performance or it is not doi...

Romy,
Funny stuff... especially the the AN piece. Equally surprised octopodes ? Brilliant !
As for the Bruce Edgar post ? Not as funny. And it's off base.
The Titan II system has a straight axis upper bass horn instead of a folded upper bas...

I was playing with new power supply over this weekend, trying to optimize everything. First I got rid of bleeders at all B+ - it has enough critical current with them according to my measurements after the bride. All supplies after the first ...

Yep, another TT but what does it mean “Analog is Back” and “new hope for the discriminated analog Audiophile”? This language is a crap that industry and armature cheerleaders develop to pump themselves and others up. However, in my view this lang...

The other day I was listening to a friend´s system with nice Avalon speakers, only one 10" seemed to be enough, of course it seemed we were playing house when listening to music, everything was small and very nice and pretty...Now when matc...

[quote user="drdna"] This implies that it is up to the stereo equipment to determine the perception and perhaps there can be one ideal stereo system. While it is consistent with what is observed, it means that there is no human variation in listening...

There are many ways to deal with EAR-843PT. To my ears it works wonderfully, this in my case it coupled with Expressive Technologies ET2 transformer that probably takes in totally new league. I kind of so addicted to this transformer that I even run ...

Ok... Assuming the lack of time alignment is compensated for via a DSP:
There are likely large chunks of the frequency spectrum that go un addressed, and equally large chunks that are mall-addressed.
I would say that there are two main ranges ...

We enter a complicated region as the lower driver we go the drivers could be used for different purposes and it is very hard to generalize. A 10-incher might be MF driver and LF driver. In my past I experimented with few MF 10-inchers, including some...

It looks to me that I will be able to live with my 6 driver
line array. Again no measurements were made but it is what it “looks”. Sound-wise it is very reputable and I just might
leave it as is. My current room is 6 larger to what I had in downto...

It is well known fact that all loudspeaker enclosures contribute to the sound of a given acoustic system to some degree. Unfortunately the resonances of the baffles have constant monochrome character and if they are too prominent there is always ...

A few things I would like to say in context of Pham’s playback.

Hi Romy,

A second MF could be interesting. I will see if we can do some test set up of this. Per has the space for it...
